Weddings
The leader and contractor, Townes Osborn Miller, has been playing the flute for weddings for over a decade. She formed the Panapolli Trio after moving to Kansas City in January of 1999. Townes will assist you in making your music selections and coordinating the ceremony music. Sample Ceremony Program
Prelude Music:
Usually twenty to thirty minutes before the ceremony. Selections can include Baroque and Classical selections like Haydn's London Trio's, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
Seating of the Parents:
A piece of your choosing to be played as the mother of the groom, then mother of the bride are escorted to their seats. Sometimes, brides will also include grandparents as well. Some nice selections would include Hymne by Vangelis, Bach's Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, or Handel's Water Music. The song is tailored to fit.
Wedding Party Processional:
A piece of your choosing to be played as the Bridesmaids' enter. Sometimes Brides will also have a ring bearer and flower girl enter last, just before the Bride. Some favorite song selections include Pachebell's Canon, Bach's Air on the G String, Arioso, and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, also, Hymne by Vangelis or Handel's Water Music. The song played during the Wedding Party Processional is tailored to fit.
Bridal Processional:
This musical selection is most commonly a stately piece like Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary, Purcell's Trumpet Tune, or Wagner's Bridal Chorus. Some Brides, however, prefer a slower, more flowing piece like Pachebell's Canon. This piece chosen is tailored to fit.
Unity Candle:
A piece usually slower in tempo. Some Brides use this as a time to have friends or family with musical talent play/sing a special selection. A very beautiful piece for both instrumentalists and vocalist's is Schubert's Ave Maria and Thy Perfect Love by John Rutter. Other beautiful selections include Frank's Panis Angelicus or Hymne by Vangelis.
Recessional:
A very lively, celebratory piece that immediately follows the presentation of the couple. Selections could include Handel's La Rejouissnace, Mendelssohn's Wedding March, Beethoven's Ode to Joy or Handel's Hornpipe.
Postlude:
Music that continues the lively, celebratory feeling while guests' exit the wedding. Selections could include Vivaldi's "Spring" from The Four Seasons, Haydn's London Trio's, or Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
